  (ii) Geoffrey de Chadderton,(d before 1320)
  VCH ('Chadderton') reports that this Geoffrey might in fact have been the same person as the one we show as his father, although that would leave it unclear who Henry was (possibly the Henry shown above?). Even though VCH ('Moston', used for the continuation) suggests that this Geoffrey was a younger son of Richard de Trafford, we show him as grandson because we think the dates support that view better but this is by no means certain.
