Charles, known in the French service as Marquess Thomond, would have inherited the Earldom of Thomond had not his grandfather, the 3rd Viscount, been attainted for fighting for King James VII/II at the battle of the Boyne.

Considering the alternatives noted above, Hugh was probably the most likely father of the following Turlough (who may have been the same person noted above as father of Conor who dsp) who is identified in BP1934 (Bellew) as grandson of Connor, 3rd Earl.

Howeber, the wife of Richard Bourke might have been a Catherine.
