Families covered: Aytoun of Aytoun (Ayton of Ayton), Aytoun of Dunmuir, Aytoun of Glenducky, Aytoun (Ayton) of Inchdairney, Aytoun of Kenaldie (Kinaldie), Aytoun of Kippo, Colvill of Ochiltree

Hamilton is clear that the following Aytons were closely connected to the family shown on Ayton1, that being supported by the fact that land held by the family passed by inheritance to the ancestor of the heiress of Ayton. However, the precise connection is not given. Hamilton (p12+) identifies the undermentioned Andrew as "uncle to the lady who carried the family estates to the Humes".
