BP1934, BEB1841 & Lipscomb all identify Sir John's wife as Anne, "widow of Tychbourne, and of the family of Rolle". We follow Visitation, which identifies her as Ann Dacres, partly because this is supported by HoP ("Sir John Pakington"), which identifies Ann as widow of Robert Fairethwatt, but mainly because Sir John's will (a report on the probate of which may be seen here, kindly brought to our attention by a contributor, OWC (08.05.12)) confirms her as that. The confusion shown by BEB1841 & BP1934 may have arisen because Anne's daughter by Robert Fairthwaite married a Tichbourne whilst Anne's sister Eleanor married George Rolle. | |||||||||||||||
