  The 'traditional view', supported by TCP (Montagu), is that the wife of Lord Montagu was a generation earlier (see below), whilst TCP (Bridgwater) identifies Elizabeth as the only child of her father's 1st marriage. However, there are some respected genealogists (see here and here for examples, the former identifying research by Douglas Richardson as the reason) who think that the Jane who married Henry Pole, Lord Montagu, was of this generation.
